Accurate Online Ruler is a free, browser-based measurement tool that renders a ruler on your screen at actual physical scale. The Service provides:

• Canvas-based ruler rendering in centimetres, millimetres, and inches
• Auto-detection of device screen specifications from a built-in database of 130+ device profiles
• Manual calibration via screen diagonal input or credit card matching
• Dark mode and fullscreen mode

The Service is provided "as is" and is intended for general reference, education, and estimation purposes. It is not a certified measuring instrument.

User Responsibilities

As a user of the Service, you agree to:

• Use the online ruler tool for lawful purposes only and in accordance with these Terms
• Not attempt to disrupt, disable, or interfere with the Service's operation
• Not reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Service (except as permitted by applicable open-source licenses)
• Not use the Service for any fraudulent or deceptive purpose
• Not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works of the Service without prior written consent

Accuracy & Limitations of Liability

Important: Accurate Online Ruler is a utility tool designed for estimation and general reference. While we strive for maximum precision through multiple calibration methods, the Service should not be used as a substitute for certified measuring instruments in applications where measurement accuracy is critical to safety, legal compliance, or financial outcomes.

Specific limitations include:

• Calibration dependency: Measurement accuracy depends entirely on correct calibration. Incorrect calibration (wrong screen diagonal, misaligned card guide, etc.) will produce inaccurate results.
• Screen variability: Physical screen sizes reported by manufacturers may deviate from actual dimensions. The online ruler actual size display is an approximation based on available device data.
• Browser and zoom factors: Browser zoom, DPI scaling, and operating system display settings affect rendering. Users should ensure browser zoom is set to 100% for best results.
• No medical or engineering use: The Service is not calibrated or certified for medical, aviation, structural engineering, or any other application where measurement error could cause harm.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Accurate Online Ruler and its operators disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. In no event shall Accurate Online Ruler be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the Service.

Intellectual Property

The Service, including its source code, design, layout, graphics, and content (excluding third-party device data), is the intellectual property of Accurate Online Ruler and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

This data is sourced from publicly available manufacturer specifications and may not reflect every variant or production revision. We make no warranty as to the completeness or accuracy of this database. Device data is provided for reference purposes and should be verified independently when measurement precision is critical.

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle information. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
